Engineered to meet ASTM C923 performance requirements - 13 psig (90kPa) watertight sealing in straight alignment and 10 psig (70kPa) watertight sealing at 7^o axial deflection - Tylox™ 3S Series connectors are suitable for use wherever an SDR35 PVC connecting pipe is required to join to a concrete structure.

The Tylox™ 3S Series utilizes  a 3-step, cored (or formed) hole in the structure. The dimensions of the cored hole are engineered to approximate the bell dimensions for the appropriate size of PVC pipe, and a watertight connection is accomplished simply by inserting the pipe spigot into the structure, in the same manner as you would insert it into the PVC pipe-bell.

Tylox™ 3S Series resilient rubber connectors are available in two styles:

3SLI

Designed for use with 4” (100mm) through 12” (300mm) SDR35 PVC connecting pipes, the 3SLI Series, utilizing an actual PVC pipe-gasket, offers an economical watertight connection, but must be glued into the step location.

3SPW

Designed for use with 4” (100mm) through 24” (600mm) SDR35 PVC connecting pipes, the 3SPW Series provides a rugged connector for use on larger size pipes, and does not require gluing into the step location.

Materials and Identification

Tylox™ 3S Series connectors are manufactured from synthetic rubber compounds, to meet the material requirements of ASTM C923.

Connectors are available for “Standard” or “Oil-resistant” applications. Oil-resistant connectors will have an orange dot on the rubber molding, or an orange line around the periphery of the gasket.

MSDS

Tylox® 3S Series connectors are not WHIMIS listed.

Tylox® 3S Series connectors are made from cross-linked, polymeric rubber, which is not considered a health hazard. As with any rubber product, the connector may smolder or burn when exposed to a naked flame. Fire-fighters should wear self-contained, positive-pressure or pressure-demand breathing apparatus, and utilize water-spray, air-foam, dry chemical or CO₂-type extinguishing media.

Storage and Handling

Proper care of the connector prior to installation will ensure maximum ease of installation and maximum sealing properties of the connector.
Connectors must not be stored near any electrical equipment that produces ozone. 

All connectors must be protected from harmful substance such as dirt, mud, dust and grit.

All connectors, other than oil-resistant connectors, must be protected from contact with solvents and petroleum based greases and oils.
