Compression Mold
Compression Molding
Perhaps the most common molding method in the rubber industry, this system utilizes a pre-formed blank which is placed into a two piece mold. Closing the mold forces the rubber to fit the mold shape, with excess being vented to the exterior. Application of heat, over time, vulcanizes the part, which is then removed from the cavity and the process repeated.

Hamilton Kent’s compression mold department utilizes a bank of 18 presses, with pressure ranges from 54 Tonnes to 703 Tonnes and platen sizes from 455cm x 45cm to 106cm x 106cm.
